It seems fitting we’re focusing on the Solar Plexus Chakra during December, as its element is fire. The daylight hours are shorter and shorter, leading up to the Winter Solstice, we compensate for the darkness by lighting candles or perhaps a fire in the fireplace.
I talked in my last blog post about the Solar Plexus Chakra, and we learned that it is our power centre, where all personal power resides. This Chakra governs your self-esteem, warrior energy and drive, and the power of transformation! I always like to talk about what it’s like to have your Chakras unbalanced and balanced.
To jump back in a bit, I explained that when the Solar Plexus chakra is open and healthy, there is a feeling of self-confidence, calm, organized, focused and you feel tremendously driven to accomplish any goal that you set out for yourself.
One quick way to ignite that element of fire is to utilize what is likely already around us this holiday season! A good old fashion fire!
I know you’re thinking, what the heck?
But whether it’s a fireplace, a winter campfire or a flickering candle, just by merely gazing at the flickering flames, we are connecting to and igniting that inner fire.
Fire can be seen as an agent of transformation, and when we look at the fire, it’s easy to be reminded of our own inner light. As the fire burns, we can see the changes with every flicker and crackle; each time a little flash of fire rises and falls, it takes on new shapes and forms. Just this simple acknowledgement can help us open the mind to how we, as humans, are! We take on different versions, shapes and forms of ourselves every day and sometimes without even seeing it.
The holiday seasons tend to offer us the opportunity to go inward and examine the things in our life that no longer serve us. It helps us to see that we may need a change in our lives or that we need to build up confidence. Some of us may feel a stronger pull to go within and reflect and rest. It’s one of the perfect times to hang out by a bit of fire and meditate. It can even help us recognize where we need to focus our energy.
And, we must be aware that when we try to push against the urge to reflect, meditate and deep dive into ourselves too much, it can create disharmony in our energy systems. This can leave us feeling drained!
To further boost the solar plexus chakra, set a goal to tackle a small and attainable project with a clear end goal. Things like organizing Christmas decorations, clearing out old decor that no longer fit in the home, or even decluttering old mail! Just finding something that’ll give a sense of accomplishment is going to boost that Chakra!
And remember, once that fire is ignited, it will really start to strengthen personal power and boost that Solar Plexus Chakra.
